Book Forshaga municipality

We are a municipality of around 1,150 people in Värmland where the focus is very much on children and young people. Newborn residents of the municipality are welcomed by “Älvis”, the little Forshaga bear, a symbol of security.
Forshaga has created great opportunities for fishing, and we are proud of our speciality – the exclusive Klarälven salmon. But we have much more to offer too, with professionals seeking large fish and amateurs peace and quiet among the many places to fish.

We also have Klarälvsbanan, the 90 km-long activity trail which takes you through the landscapes of Värmland from Karlstad in the south to Hagfors in the north, passing all the way through Forshaga municipality on its way. Along the trail you will meet pedestrians, cyclists and inline skaters, all of whom have realised the benefits of a car-free life. There are few places where you can get closer to nature.
